So Long, It's Been Good to Know Ya... |

As I'm sure our regular fans have already discovered, the ol' Brooklyn Country site has been out of commission for a while now. And its with more than a few tears in my beer that I announce the official end of it. Blame it on a life of drinking, a heart full of sin, or (more likely) just being too damn busy to do it right. I'll be leaving what's left of it up here, so that New York's country-curious can continue to find out about a few more bands than they might have known about. But in the foreseeable future, there'll be no new updates or additions. I apologize for not being able to do more. I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who's looked at the site, every performer and organizer who's bothered to be a part of it, and--most of all--every friend I've made because of it. When I started this site almost exactly two years ago, I thought that maybe, if I was lucky, I'd meet twenty other people who were into this stuff. Instead, I've met hundreds. That, to me, is worth every ounce of work I put into it. But if you'd like to know more about what's going on with country music in New York City--and would prefer to hear it from happier, more responsible people who have better things to do than cry in their beer and make excuses about their half-assed ways--check out my friends at Brooklyn Country Music, Kings County Opry, and Good Music NY. Thanks for everything. And, as always, feel free to drop me a line. If, for whatever sick reason, you came here looking for Uncle Leon and the Albis, click here.
